Live the present moment | nownowclock

The time is now.

Sometimes my busy mind gets stuck in the past, while at other times I’m focused on the future. This often doesn’t improve my creativity or indeed the quality of my life. I truly wish that everyone could gaze upon their world with the simple joy of a child, or with the playfulness of a young puppy. That inspires me because they are living in the now and embracing every moment.

This isn’t a clock.

This is a playful reminder to me and to you, that we should live the present moment, enjoy the smallest of things, while giving our attention to life’s challenges when the need arises. I wish you a sense of adventure and playfulness, the calmness you might need to deal with any stormy times, and above all, the joy that can be found in living all of life’s moments to the full.

Material and process
The nownowclocks are handmade from Utrecht City wood. The Belgian Elm (Ulmus Hollandica ‘Belgica’ 1790 – 2012) is one of the Netherland’s oldest Elm-trees. Trees that are blown down by the wind or cut down by necessity in Utrecht can find new life in the shape of tables, benches and now within these unique clocks. The clocks are sawn, sanded, milled, engraved and varnished with love and passion.
Measurements: 260 x 260 x 22 mm
